Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM)

The objective of the institution KNRM is providing help and assistance free of charge on open water to those who are in danger or are at risk of being in danger.

The area covers the Dutch part of the North Sea, the entire Dutch coast, the Zeeuwse waters, the IJsselmeer and bordering lakes.

Since its establishment in 1824, KNRM has decided to do this as an independent, unsubsidised institution.
